JennettMWCWow, what a week. I just returned from Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona and all I can say is it was overwhelming! The changes that are coming over the course of the next year are really going to redefine how we look at mobility and devices overall. It was a week filled with great information, great people and great products starting with a half-day theater session with HP.

Global Services has a great article on the end of the PC through the rise of the cloud with 2012 being a banner year for enterprise mobility. In the article, they state that Gartner reports, “Today, mobile devices combined with the cloud can fulfill most computing tasks, and any tradeoffs are outweighed in the minds of the user by the convenience and flexibility provided by the mobile devices.” This rise in mobility is changing the way we work both personally, but more importantly in the enterprise. This is a great contrast to another article written by Richard Keggans back in August of last year “Death of the PC” Greatly Exaggerated where he believes it to just be an evolution. Interesting, however, that he makes no mention of the cloud. Is the cloud the game changer? Love to hear your thoughts.
